SUMMER ACTIVITIES

Optimist: for kids from 6 to 14 years, three shifts for two hours a day.

From Monday till Friday, 10 hours in total.

Catamaran: youngsters aged 14 and older, also adults.

Same duration as the optimists.

You can also take private lessons – on to one – of one hour.

ANNUAL ACTIVITIES:

The objective of this activity is to develop a stable fleet of optimist boats.

One and a half hour classes twice a week from Monday till Sunday.

We also offer private or group classes for adults on weekends on catamarans.

BOATS:

The club has 20 optimists,

1 Soling (open keelboat)

8 Hobie 18 Pacific Catamaran

4 Hobie 15 Catamarans

1 Hobie 13

SAFETY

3 semi rigid Zodiacs, one of 70 horsepower and two smaller ones

METHODOLOGY

10 hour course.

The first things explained on the beach is what we are going to teach during the day,

The most important parts of the boat and the basic knowledge of wind directions and

Wind angle.

The first part of the class is teaching the students practical skills, orientation,

Boat handling and security at sea.

At the end of the class we have games for the kids and a talk about what we learned

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF EACH DAY

Monday: sailing reaches and tacking

Tuesday: ditto previous day plus sailing upwind and tacking

Wednesday: sailing upwind and downwind, tacking and jibing

Thursday: capsizing and sailing in all directions

Friday: basic racing
